Drinking and Spirits

Interesting article from the Paranormal Insider, from Gopher Central.

Spirits and Booze. Hi Gus: "I recently read a book about a man who'd just had a Near Death Experience. A short while later, he entered a tavern and noticed that there were dark entities hovering around the people who were drinking the hardest. Not only that, the more these people drank, the more their auras were weakened. As the night wore on, holes or gateways appeared in their auras, allowing the dark entities to enter their bodies and take control. "Based on this man's account and others, it is my opinion there are evil spirits that prey exclusively on people who drink or take drugs—and are also in a weak or depressed state of mind. This fragile state of mind, combined with intoxicants, allows the malevolent entities to gain a foot- hold in the psyches of drunkards, causing them to do things they would not normally do. These entities are creatures of opportunity, so to speak. Like wolves or hyenas, they strike the weakest in the pack. "To get rid of such evil spirits, the alcoholic or addict must completely kick their habit. This will give them the strength to successfully reverse the possession."

On one level, this article is absolutely correct. I think dark forces, so to speak, can easily influence you when you drink too much. You lose control, become less aware, inhibitions fall away, and a person can easily misinterpret other people and their intentions. Abuse of alcohol does give way to the dark side of the force. On the spirit side, I really have never seen what this person saw. I have had supernatural experiences mind you, but from memory, not whilst I drank. Maybe he wasn't drunk and had a close connection to the spirit world from his NDE, I don't really know. Now that I have been not drinking for a long while, I can see that when two people drink the communications begin to atrophy. I've noticed that people don't realize their talking too loud, slurring, getting aggressive. I used to do that all the time, and didn't notice. So far so good nowadays. I geta lott out of going to the dojo, talking with friends, and spending time with my Wife and my Daughter. I also have been pursuing my old hobbies. I hadn't realizedI'dd let them slip for all these years. They still give me great pleasure.
