Not quite illegal aliens.....

+----------------- Bizarre UFO Sightings ------------------+

On June 24th, 1947, Kenneth Arnold, former World War II fighter pilot, saw a cluster of disc-shaped objects near Mt. Rainier in Washington State, officially sparking the national debate over whether UFO's are real objects. When Arnold shared his account with reporters in Pendleton, he described the UFO's as "saucers." UFO's have popularly been referred to as "flying saucers" since.

On March 13, 1997, a number of witnesses, scientists, physicians, law enforcement officers, educators, attorneys, airline pilots, and other seemingly reliable witnesses, reported unusual lights moving in the Phoenix sky from Prescott to Tucson. Each report, within minutes of each other, described the object as a cluster of red-orange lights that gave the "impression of being in a "V" format- ion, somewhat like a wedge or boomerang in shape," accord- ing to one witness' report.

On January 6, 1969, Jimmy Carter reported a UFO sighting, which he made public while he was Governor of Georgia. Carter told the following to reporters: "It was the darndest thing I've ever seen. It was big, it was very bright, it changed colors, and it was about the size of the moon. We watched it for ten minutes, but none of us could figure out what it was. One thing's for sure, I'll never make fun of people who say they've seen unidentified objects in the sky. If I become President, I'll make every piece of information this country has about UFO sightings available to the public and the scientists."

On October 18, 1973, Captain Lawrence J. Coyne, Staff Sergeant John Healy, Co-Pilot Arrigo Jozzi, and Crew Chief SSGT Robery Yanacsek, Army reservists, were flying from Columbus, Ohio to Cleveland, Ohio in a helicopter. When the aircraft was near the Mansfield airport, Captain Coyne adjusted his flight path to avoid a collision with a "cigar- shaped, metallic gray" object that shone a "green spotlight."

California Central Airliner was minutes outside the Burbank- Hollywood airport on October 5, 1950 when Captain Cecil Hardin noticed a lighted object approaching head-on. Co- pilot Jack Conroy later told reporters that the UFO was only in sight a few moments before passing below their plane. Captain Hardin said, "the thing that was really odd was that it didn't appear to have any fuselage. We also felt no propeller wash as the object passed under our wing."

Drinking and Spirits

Interesting article from the Paranormal Insider, from Gopher Central.

Spirits and Booze. Hi Gus: "I recently read a book about a man who'd just had a Near Death Experience. A short while later, he entered a tavern and noticed that there were dark entities hovering around the people who were drinking the hardest. Not only that, the more these people drank, the more their auras were weakened. As the night wore on, holes or gateways appeared in their auras, allowing the dark entities to enter their bodies and take control. "Based on this man's account and others, it is my opinion there are evil spirits that prey exclusively on people who drink or take drugs—and are also in a weak or depressed state of mind. This fragile state of mind, combined with intoxicants, allows the malevolent entities to gain a foot- hold in the psyches of drunkards, causing them to do things they would not normally do. These entities are creatures of opportunity, so to speak. Like wolves or hyenas, they strike the weakest in the pack. "To get rid of such evil spirits, the alcoholic or addict must completely kick their habit. This will give them the strength to successfully reverse the possession."

On one level, this article is absolutely correct. I think dark forces, so to speak, can easily influence you when you drink too much. You lose control, become less aware, inhibitions fall away, and a person can easily misinterpret other people and their intentions. Abuse of alcohol does give way to the dark side of the force. On the spirit side, I really have never seen what this person saw. I have had supernatural experiences mind you, but from memory, not whilst I drank. Maybe he wasn't drunk and had a close connection to the spirit world from his NDE, I don't really know. Now that I have been not drinking for a long while, I can see that when two people drink the communications begin to atrophy. I've noticed that people don't realize their talking too loud, slurring, getting aggressive. I used to do that all the time, and didn't notice. So far so good nowadays. I geta lott out of going to the dojo, talking with friends, and spending time with my Wife and my Daughter. I also have been pursuing my old hobbies. I hadn't realizedI'dd let them slip for all these years. They still give me great pleasure.
